Senior Job Description: The Bilingual Senior position is a supervisory position that requires professional proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing in English and Spanish to serve clients needing ABA therapy.. Seniors will independently (with support from the Lead BCBA) manage teams of 8-10 clients and their staff. Seniors are responsible for training BTTs, creating and maintaining client programming (in learning trees and session notes) following the guidance and recommendations from the Lead BCBA.
Responsibilities: All responsibilities listed will be under the direct supervision of the Lead BCBA.

Attend and actively participate in all administrative meetings including but not limited to staffing, POD, and staff development days.

Work effectively with all clients with varying functioning levels, severity of behaviors, and acquisition rates.

Supervise 8-10 clients and the corresponding teams of behavior treatment technicians (BTTs) by using ABA principles and following the ethics outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

Provide supervision for 5-10% of the treatment hours that the client receives.

Schedule at least 1 hour per month to overlap each client with the Lead BCBA.

Consult with the Lead BCBA to ensure the provision of effective and efficient service delivery.

Be receptive to the feedback given by all supervisors including: Lead BCBA, Regional Director, and Director of Training. Make changes outlined by the Lead BCBA within 1 week or another predetermined time given by the Lead BCBA.

Build and maintain rapport with BTTs while maintaining professional boundaries.

Conduct functional behavior assessments and write corresponding BIPs including corresponding replacement behavior goals based on the hypothesized functions. Discuss any changes with the Lead BCBA prior to implementation and prior to discussions with caregivers.

Probe skills to determine client specific baseline and mastery criteria.

Write clinically appropriate goals based on outcomes of approved assessments.

Have a working knowledge and application of prerequisite skills needed for client programming.

Maintain client learning trees and session notes. This includes, but is not limited to moving on mastered targets, introducing new targets, writing goals & targets, writing objective instructional notes, and writing operational definitions.

Use the “model, try, feedback” method to train all staff on new targets, during cross training opportunities, and while training new BTTs.

Routinely provide ongoing coaching and feedback regarding BTT performance to enhance staff development and skill.

Document feedback and written discussions within the corresponding activity log.

Analyze program data to ensure appropriate progress and effectiveness.

Provide 1:1 coverage for client sessions if staff cancels or terminates employment (can be long term instances of low staff).

Write protocol modification notes (97155, 97152, 97156) which will include updates and changes in programming, observations, and service delivery.

Conduct Lead Visits: This includes scheduling Lead Visit meetings for the Lead BCBA, Senior, and caregivers, writing an agenda and sending it to the Lead BCBA and caregivers ahead of time, and being an active participant in the meeting which will be conducted with the Lead BCBA present.

Parent Collaboration: Schedule and conduct parent training sessions (minimum once per month). Update parent collaboration programming.

Work effectively and professionally with Sonnenberg administrative staff, school staff, and any other outside providers such as OT, PT, and speech.

Communicate effectively and with respect with parents, BTTs, teachers, supervisor, clinical supervisors, clinical directors.

Respond to all emails, phone calls, and Central Reach messages within 24-48 business hours.

Maintain schedules for all supervision cases. This includes, but is not limited to inputting and organizing staff schedules into CR, using the correct location and billing information, finding coverage for open shifts, and collaborating with peers.

Update caregivers on any program updates, incident reports, and staffing/scheduling changes.

Have 3 or fewer unexcused absences during a 6 month period.

Follow and comply with all ABA ethical guidelines and policies, regulations, and laws including confidentiality and HIPAA.

Adhere to and complete all mandated reporting regulations.

Maintain professional boundaries with clients and their families.
-

Requirements

Have at least 2,000 hours of direct 1:1 in the field of ABA. If you qualify for BCBA supervision, you may be eligible with fewer than 2,000 hours.

Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.

Requires professional proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing in English and Spanish
-
Be able and willing to work with all clients across functioning levels with various deficits and strengths.
-
Be able to demonstrate identifying the MO and preference assessments across all clients within your typical caseload and novel clients.

Demonstrate knowledge of the 4 main functions of behavior by correctly hypothesizing the possible function of observed behaviors during overlaps with the Lead BCBA and Director of Training.

Accurately describe and model each verbal operant.

Demonstrate the ability to advocate for yourself by asking for help and initiating learning opportunities.

Be able to read a brief description of a child’s treatment package and successfully work with them for an entire session (while maintaining motivation and the therapeutic nature of the session).

Have a positive attitude with all supervisors, BTTs, admin staff, and parents.

Be receptive to feedback from supervisors and apply that feedback immediately. Advocate for self when additional training is needed on the feedback.

Be accountable for self and hold others accountable for their actions

Use model, try, feedback while cross training current staff or training new BTTs.

Be able to actively engage with clients throughout the session.

Be scheduled for a minimum of 35 hours scheduled per week with Sonnenberg clients. Ability to work a minimum of 8 session blocks from 8:15-3:15 Monday - Friday.

This is an in-person position.

Ability to work 70 billable hours in each pay period and be present in the building a min of 35 hours a week

Work will take place in a center-based setting. However, work may fluctuate between a center and school setting depending on the needs of each client.
