James is Sonnenberg’s People and Culture Manager. Originally from the southwest suburbs of Chicago - Go White Sox! - he now resides in the greater Milwaukee area - Go Brewers! James received his BA in Music/Honors Diploma at Saint Xavier University, Chicago, his Graduate Certificate in Liturgical Studies - Catholic Theological Union, Chicago, and his MS in Management (Human Resources) at the University of St. Francis, Joliet.
 
James believes that servant leadership, empathetic listening and open communication are intrinsic to fostering a great place to work, and to championing the most important part of an organization, its team members. He loves employee relations and engagement, so creating a values-centered and mission-driven workplace where employees feel valued and celebrated for their great contributions is very rewarding to him.
 
James enjoys spending time with his wife and their two amazing greyhounds, being with family and friends, working out, gardening, and traveling to Door County and southern California.In addition to working at Sonnenberg, he is a professional musician (organist/pianist/choral conductor/composer) and serves part-time as an organist at a church in the greater Milwaukee area. He is a published composer and enjoys collaborations with musician friends on choral music and recitals.
