Chelsea Craig

Chelsea is an experienced HR professional with a strong background in recruitment, new hire onboarding, and employee engagement in the retail setting. Working for a large retailer has given Chelsea the unique opportunity to work with many people from different experience levels, backgrounds, and points of view, resulting in her love for community and building relationships in the workplace and beyond.

Originally from the Rockford area, Chelsea attended a small rural high school in northern Illinois, graduating in a class of only 51 students! She went on to Northern Illinois University with plans to become an art teacher. Needing a part time job to help get her through college, she applied to work as a cashier at Walmart. This quickly progressed into an 18-year career as she had the opportunity to grow into management and HR-related roles. Recently, she returned to school to complete her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources from Purdue University Global. Inspired to take her experience and skills into a new environment, Chelsea is excited to join the team at Sonnenberg!

Outside of work, you can generally find Chelsea with her nose in a good book or working on a new art project. She is a member of 2 book clubs in her local community and loves chatting about books almost as much as she loves reading them. When she isn’t reading, she’s spending time with her friends, family, and much-beloved fluffy dog, a Great Pyrenees named Deckard.
